Fears has to be overcome. You just have to DO IT!
Canyoneering
For those who do not know about canyoneering or canyoning, it is a kind of sport where a person or a group of people explores the canyons by doing either rappelling, rafting, waterfall jumping, or swimming.
Want to know the feeling?
1, 2, 3... jump! Are the only words that encouraged us to go along the way the canyons of Kawasan Falls. This is not my first time in jumping a cliff but I cannot explain the feeling why it was different. It was INTENSE... There was PRESSURE... BUTTERFLIES IN STOMACH... But the best of all, the feeling of SUCCESS like finally, I did it and I am still alive! (haha) The adventure was like a mission impossible because it was my first time doing this kind of activity and I have no idea what awaits me. Once you jump, you can never go back, unless you wanted to be taken by a rope and do the rappelling(can be possible). If you want to overcome something, especially heights, or prove some bravery, you have to try this one. The cliff wasn't really that high but scares me enough.
What you will do?
The activity can be done in two ways:
Which activity would you prefer? I recommend you do start from the top if you want to experience the thrill in jumping.
Either which of the two you choose, the important thing you do is take time to stop and enjoy the view. Take a lot of pictures and videos. This was said by the owner of the resort that we have chosen to get a tour guide. And he's right, it was WOW. The water was so pure with its' rushing sound created by the drops that slides through the stones. If I will be left there alone, I'd think there is some kind of magical creatures around.
Anyway, you don't have to worry about taking videos or pictures for yourself or for your group because the tour guide will help you take them for you. My canyoneering experience were all documented in pictures and videos. Thanks to our tour guide, Kuya Jay! It's funny because he uses GoPro better than us. He even suggests the best spot to take pictures and videos.
These pictures below are just some of the many of it. I cannot upload videos here so just that for now. :D

The tour guide for Canyoneering
When planning to do Canyoneering via Kawasan falls, it is better to book your date first on any tour guides available online or any person you might know who's been there. As for us, we decided to go with Matutinao beach resort.
Our tour guide was Kuya Jay. He was very helpful and always make sure that nothing harm will happen to us and to other customers of other party. It was nice because you can see that the tour guides are helping each other out. He even said that they were trained for almost 3 months. At first, he was not used to jumping at long heights, but after that long training, he already know how to balance himself in the air. So guys, you don't have to worry about anything but focus on yourself.
Canyoneering took almost 3 - 4 hours. We started around 9:30 am and finished at almost 2 pm so we had a delayed lunch but no problem because the meal was served right after.
Rate: 1500 php per person
Includes:
-1 snack with bottled water
- Life jacket with pocket for snack and others. You may bring money because there is a store as you reach half of the canyons. They offer barbeques, rice and etc.
- Lunch meal including soft drinks
- Transportation from Matutinao beach to first stage of canyoning at Kawasan falls

How to go to Kawasan Falls?
Kawasan falls is located at Badian, in the north of Cebu.
Usual transport: From Cebu south terminal, you can ride a bus (air, non-air), just look for Ceres bus line that leads to Badian and just tell you want to stop at Kawasan falls. Rate fee ranges from 100 - 120.
We took a different transport when going to Badian because it was Holy week and there a lot of expectant passengers lining and waiting for the Ceres bus almost reaching to 300+. We were there 3 am and still at quarter to 6, we are on the same place. So we decided to look for a different transport. There was taxi but the offered price is so expensive at 3,000 pesos. There was also a jeep but it was already loaded. Luckily, we found a van that could help us reach the place.
Other transport: Take a ride on a van that reaches to Moalboal. After reaching the last stop, you can ride a multicab or a habal-habal (single motor) that reaches to Badian, Kawasan falls.
Rate from Cebu terminal to Moalboal: 150 per person
Rate from Moalboal via motor: 100 per person
